A circular economy is all about keeping products and materials in use for longer, maximising the value of resources and designing out waste, as well as boosting innovation, jobs and investment, and protecting the environment.
But how do we practically transition from a linear ‘take-make-dispose’ model to a circular economy? And how can local government play its part?
This online forum on Friday 13 August from 10am-12pm will focus on shifting from a linear to a circular economy and what your council can do.
Our expert speakers include:
• Lisa McLean, CEO of NSW Circular which is tasked with helping government organisations, industry and people to deliver a zero-carbon circular economy in NSW
• Debbie O'Byrne, MBA, Circular Economy Lead at Lake Macquarie City Council and first dedicated Circular Economy role in a council in Australia
• Tim Askew, Regional Policy and Program Manager leading Hunter JO’s Circular Economy program which has received international recognition
• Justin Bonsey, Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils
The full agenda will include case studies and thought leadership to ensure you have the latest information.
