Cr Pat Dixon Memorial Scholarship


The late Cr Pat Dixon was the first Aboriginal woman elected to local government in Australia, and worked tirelessly for the community she represented. 

In recognition of her service and achievements in local government, a scholarship has been established for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander councillors and council staff members in NSW to undertake further study, professional development or research.

The scholarship will provide assistance to the value of $5000 for one or more scholarship recipients in a calendar year. 

Eligibility – Only Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander NSW local government councillors or employees are eligible to apply. 

Applications – Applications for the 2020 scholarship are open from 13 February and have been extended to Tuesday 7 April 2020.

Applications should be submitted through LGNSW’s online application portal. Applicants are required to upload confirmation of Aboriginality and a brief CV as part of the application process.
