Infrastructure Policy
NSW local government owns $160 billion in infrastructure assets and has responsibility for a range of local infrastructure, including roads and bridges, pedestrian and cycle networks, water and sewerage utilities, stormwater systems, community buildings, airports, parks and recreation facilities, and more.
Local government also plays a key role in identifying and advocating for the provision of State Government infrastructure to meet the needs of their communities e.g. schools, hospitals and roads.
Local Government NSW supports member councils on infrastructure policy issues and believes that local government is best placed to plan for, deliver and manage essential local infrastructure.
