Renewable Energy Infrastructure Investment Program for Councils

Regional councils have an opportunity to investigate renewable energy infrastructure on Crown land they manage, through the Renewable Energy Infrastructure Investment (REII) program.

This program is part of the NSW Government’s Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020-2030 and the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

The benefits of the REII program to councils include earning revenue from renewable energy developers, the potential to purchase renewable energy and Large-Scale Generation Certificates (LGC) while also maximising the productivity of Crown land assets. The program is in its final stages and will require active involvement if councils agree to participate.

If councils are interested, please email the Council Crown Land Management team at [email protected] to find out more or contact [email protected] by 28 February 2023.
