Procurement Capability Grants Program update

Local Government Procurement (LGP) is pleased to advise that 37 expressions of interest were received in response to the inaugural LGP Procurement Capability Grants program.

This program has been designed to incentivise the design and implementation of impactful initiatives that advance capability in procurement practice across the NSW local government sector.

The total value of the proposed projects exceeded $500,000. This has been an exceptional response and indicates the level of opportunity that exists in council procurement functions.

Proposed projects cover process improvement, technology, professional development, multi-council work and inventory projects.

All NSW councils, JOs, ROCs and county councils were eligible, with grants of between $3000 and $25,000 available. Project eligibility will be assessed in streams for procurement capability, process improvement, funding request or disaster recovery.

The evaluation panel has been given a difficult task in considering each application and we look forward to the challenge. LGP thanks all those who demonstrated leadership in this area and will have a further update in the coming month.
