IPART Review of Fire and Rescue NSW User Charges

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is reviewing Fire and Rescue NSW’s user charges for services such as false alarm call-outs to automatic fire alarm systems, hazmat incidents and statutory fire safety inspections.

IPART seeking feedback on our proposed approach to this review, including which services should be subject to user charges and a pricing methodology to recover the costs of those services.

IPART has released an Issues Paper and Information Paper as part of the review process.

IPART invites written comment on this document and encourages all interested parties to provide submissions addressing the matters discussed. Submissions are due by Tuesday, 12 October 2021

LGNSW will be responding to the review and would also welcome council comments and copies of council submissions to better inform our sectoral response. Please direct comments to Shaun McBride, LGNSW Chief Economist, by Tuesday 5 October, email: [email protected].
