2021 Motion Submissions Now Open

Motions are now open for the 2021 Local Government NSW Annual Conference, which will commence from Sunday 28 November at the Hyatt Regency, Sydney.

The Annual Conference is the main policy-making event for the local government sector and is your council’s opportunity to help set the advocacy agenda for the year ahead. Motions passed at Conference become Resolutions, which LGNSW actions on your behalf as part of our advocacy program.

This year is also a Board election year, in which nominated council delegates vote to determine your peak body leadership team. The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is determining whether its response to COVID-19 will require this year’s Board Election to be conducted by postal ballot, rather than in-person at the conference site.

Should a postal vote eventuate, the new Board will be announced and introduced via a continuation of the conference in an online session scheduled for Monday 20 December 2021.

All members have been provided with a Letter of Invitation which includes all the details you need to participate fully in the conference, including information on:

  • Voting Delegates – Motion and Board Election
  • Voting Entitlements
  • Nomination as a voting delegate
  • Absentee (proxy) voting
  • Motions
  • Business Papers
