"Council’s Environmental Year in Review" outlines the cross organisational achievements, progressing the community’s and Council’s environmental goals set in the community strategic plan and supported by many of Council’s environmental strategies and plans.  In the last year Council has adopted a new Environmental Strategy which included development of the Urban Tree Canopy Strategy, Biodiversity Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan and Local Movement Strategy.

Blue Mountains City Council: Blue Mountains 2040: Living Sustainably
The Blue Mountains is a city within a UNESCO World Heritage National Park – one of only two such cities in the world. Blue Mountains 2040: Living Sustainably, the local strategic planning statement for the Blue Mountains, presents a local planning approach which demonstrates best-practice, innovation and local government leadership, setting the direction for land use for the next 20 years. The project draws together extensive strategic work and captures the community shaped vision for an ongoing commitment to a sustainable future, addressing climate change and responding to significant natural hazards such as bush fire.
