Winner Division A and Overall Category Winner

Parkes Shire Council - Parkes recycled water scheme

Winner Division C

Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick Councils - 3-Council public electric vehicle charging network
In June 2019, Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick Councils launched a network of seven public on-street electric vehicle charging stations located in key destination hotspots across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

This pioneering project aims to make the region ‘EV-ready’, by addressing two main barriers: access to charging infrastructure and drivers’ range anxieties. The charging stations are powered by 100% renewable energy.

Highly Commended Division C

Wollongong City Council - A Journey to the Green Stars. Council’s 6 star administration building
Wollongong City Council achieved Australia’s first 5 Star Green Star Performance rating in 2015. Council has continued to further improve the buildings’ efficiency and indoor environment and the building achieved a 6 Star Green Star Performance rating when recertified in June 2019.

This achievement demonstrates that old buildings when managed well can be high performing sustainable buildings.
