Social Media Policy for Councillors

Leaders today are judged not only on their ability to communicate, but also on their readiness to understand and adopt new forms of communication.

This workshop has been designed to help councillors gain an understanding of your council's current Social Media Policy and will focus on appropriate behaviours when using social media.

Topics covered in this workshop include:

• Regulations relevant to social media for councillors
• Social media policy
• Purpose for using and engaging in social media
• councillor social media and private social media
• Managed use of social media

Process: The facilitator will engage you in demonstrations, discussions and practice activities to assist understanding and application of social media.
