Time: 10am-12pm

Overview
This series of workshops, split over three, two-hour sessions, will provide participants with an understanding of what drives domestic and family violence and provide case studies and practical tools to help prevent this violence through their work in local councils.

The training is based on Change the Story, Australia’s national framework to prevent violence against women and their children, which is informed by Australian and international research. All federal and state and territory governments have signed up to this framework.

The session incorporates practical activities from the Our Watch Prevention toolkit for local government as well as supporting domestic violence leave within the workplace.

Who should attend?
Community safety and crime prevention officers, community development officers, human resources, executives and councillors.
