Innovation in Special Events

Division A (population less than 30,000)

Winner: Parkes Shire Council – Apollo 11 Campaign & Community Event Activation

Judges’ Comments
This is a fantastic event! The submission went above and beyond the requirements. We were able to see and understand the planning process, the strategy, the budget, the outcomes and results of this well thought out event. Congratulations for putting together a great submission. And Parkes Council should definitely continue to grow this initiative as this can be turned into a great tourist attraction for the community, especially once we are allowed to travel more internally.

Division B (population 30,000-70,000)

Winner: Wagga Wagga City Council – Lost Lanes

Judges' comment
Wagga Wagga City Council truly displayed what a culturally diverse community it has, and this project certainly highlight the energy, and community spirit that exist in the city. A great example of an idea being executed, implemented and having a great impact on the community.

Highly Commended: Clarence Valley Council – Introduction to Surf Safety for non-English Speakers

This was a wonderful event encompassing all areas of the community, particularly local business and the arts, and ethnic and disabled members of the community. The event appears very well planned, communicated and attended. What a wonderful idea to move it every year, offering fresh horizons and challenges.
