Blue Mountains City Council

Cr Romola Hollywood was first elected to Blue Mountains City Council in 2012, then in 2016 and 2021.

She was Alternate Deputy Mayor from 2016. In 2021 she was elected Deputy Mayor.

Cr Hollywood is active on the council and external representative committees, including:

  • Chair of the Blue Mountains Hatobuilico Friendship Committee
  • Councillor representative for Blue Mountains International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) organising committee
  • Chair of the council’s Ward 2 Flood Plain Study Committee
  • Council delegate and Vice-President of the NSW Public Libraries Association
  • Member of the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council - LGNSW representative.

This work reflects Cr Hollywood’s deep commitment to social justice and the role local government can play in protecting our environment and enabling local communities to be inclusive, resilient and sustainable.

Cr Hollywood also brings extensive experience as a senior manager in policy, advocacy and governance in the community services sector.

She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), Master of Philosophy and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. She is a member of the NSW Rural Fire Service, member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on numerous not-for-profit community and arts boards and committees.
