Councillor Linda Scott is the unopposed elected President of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), and serving her second term as the elected President of Local Government NSW, having served as a Board member since 2015. She is also serving her second term as a Labor Councillor on City of Sydney Council, having formerly served as the Deputy Lord Mayor.
Linda is a professional Board Director, serving as the Deputy Chair of CareSuper, an industry superannuation fund with $18 billion in funds under management, and on a range of NSW Government boards and advisory groups, including the NSW Environmental Trust and NSW Smart Places Advisory Committee. She volunteers for the University of Sydney Dalyell Mentor program, and raises funds for homelessness services in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
Linda appears as a regular media commentator, and is passionate about taking action on dangerous climate change, creating quality employment and affordable housing opportunities and reducing inequality.
She lives with her husband and two children in Sydney’s inner city, and loves bushwalking and swimming.
