OLG seeks feedback on asset valuation options

The Office of Local Government is considering the most appropriate asset valuation model for councils as part of the NSW Government’s response to the Inquiry into the Ability of councils to fund infrastructure and services.

Three asset measurement models are outlined in the Local Government Asset Valuation Discussion Paper:

  • Option 1: Revaluation Model
  • Option 2: Cost-based approach
  • Option 3: Mixed approach

OLG is seeking feedback from councils on these options. LGNSW will also make a submission and invites councils to provide input or feedback to Anthony Luu by 7 September 2026.
