Applications sought for StateCover Director
Expressions of interest are sought from eligible, suitably qualified councillors who wish to join the Board of StateCover Mutual Limited.
The LGNSW Board nominates four LGNSW Councillor Directors for appointment to the StateCover Board and a LGNSW Chief Executive Director (the Chief Executive of LGNSW or nominee). The Chief Executive Director nominee position is vacant.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be a councillor of a council that is a member of LGNSW and a policy-holding council member of StateCover. The appointment will be for a three-year term.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated director experience and/or AICD qualifications, a deep understanding of local government based on sector experience at a senior level and at least five years' senior level experience in finance/audit; operational risk management; people and culture; or IT (operational or governance).
Applicants must also have at least five years’ executive level experience within local government, government or corporate entities. Knowledge of and experience in long tail insurance or the broader insurance/finance sectors, financial markets (including equities, and current economic conditions) and monitoring of investment manager performance will be highly valued.
Applicants should understand and agree to accept the time commitment involved (about 25 days a year) and ongoing professional development requirements.
Candidates must also satisfy the requirements of the StateCover Fit and Proper Policy.
