Bluett Awards applications open now

The AR Bluett Memorial Trustees invite your council to enter local government’s most prestigious award: the AR Bluett Memorial Award.

Since 1945, the AR Bluett Memorial Award has been acknowledged as the greatest accolade a council can receive and the pinnacle of local government achievement.

Councils right across NSW continue to demonstrate excellence despite challenging circumstances, achieving outstanding outcomes for their communities.

The AR Bluett Memorial Award is an opportunity for these achievements of your council and your staff to be celebrated and recognised.

Each year the AR Bluett Trustees invite all councils in NSW to submit an entry. Councils will be judged on the relative progress they have made in the 2023/2024 financial year. This means that irrespective of size or resources, each council receives due consideration for its achievements.

Projects and initiatives started in previous years, or in progress, are eligible for inclusion provided your council clearly explains the status of the project or initiative as at the time of application.

The winning councils of the 79th annual Bluett Awards will be announced at the LGNSW Annual Conference later this year.

Entries are open now and will close on 31 July 2024. The application process is streamlined and the Trustees favour concise entries highlighting a council’s progress.

Further information and application details are available online.
