Review of the Ageing and Disability Commissioner Act
The NSW Department of Communities and Justice is conducting an independent review of the Ageing and Disability Commissioner Act (2019). The Act established the role of the Ageing and Disability Commissioner to help protect vulnerable adults with disability and older people from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
The Act is being reviewed to determine whether:
- The policy objectives of the Act remain valid; and
- The terms of the Act are still appropriate to help meet those objectives.
Councils are invited to make a submission on the review using the consultation materials available via "Have your Say" website.
