Six Cities Region Discussion Paper    

The NSW Government has released the Six Cities Region Discussion Paper.

The paper sets out a vision for the future of the Six Cities global city region, which includes Lower Hunter and Greater Newcastle City, Central Coast City, Illawarra-Shoalhaven City, Western Parkland City, Central River City and Eastern Harbour City.

To realise the vision for the global city region and frame the 2023 Region Plan, the Greater Cities Commission is proposing six region shapers:

  • First Nations voice
  • A connected region
  • Housing
  • Inclusive places
  • Jobs and economies
  • Green cities

The Greater Cities Discussion Paper is a starting point for engagement on the region shapers proposed. The Greater Cities Commission will be engaging with members of the community, government and industry via online and in-person information sessions, pop-up stalls and workshops.
