Review of Children’s Guardian Act
The NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian is undertaking a statutory review of some parts of the Children’s Guardian Act 2019.
LGNSW will be making a submission and invites councils to provide comments for inclusion before Friday 5 August.
The focus areas for the statutory review are:
- Reportable Conduct Scheme
- Deputy Children’s Guardian role
- Official Community Visitors Scheme
- Child employment
The Children’s Guardian’s functions in relation to the child safe scheme (i.e the Child Safe Standards) are not subject to this review as the scheme began only on 1 February this year.
