Social cohesion - Funding and research for local government

The NSW Government and Resilient Sydney would like to invite relevant council staff to participate in an online information session about a new opportunity for funding and research to strengthen social cohesion in communities across NSW.

The online information session will be held Wednesday 9 February 2022 10.00am - 11.30am.

Local government has a deep understanding of the factors impacting upon social cohesion in their local communities. Councils deliver economic, environmental and social outcomes across a range of areas that affect social cohesion, and are well placed to design and implement initiatives that build stronger, more resilient and cohesive communities.

Key highlights:

  • Learn about the new funding opportunities for councils to strengthen social cohesion at a community level.
  • Hear from experts about the role of social cohesion in community resilience.
  • Participate in the development of a state-wide social cohesion survey for use by councils, that will provide consistent data to measure social cohesion outcomes.
  • Participate in the development of a Social Cohesion Framework for local government.

The session will be held online via Zoom. Once you register, further information and Zoom details will be emailed to you closer to the date.
