Draft Code of Practice for Unsafe Plants in Non-Rural Areas

The Draft Unsafe Plants in Non-rural Areas Code of Practice 2021 is open for consultation until 9 December 2021.

The proposed Code will eliminate the need to obtain a biodiversity conservation licence to remove plants that are a risk to life or property in areas where the State Environmental Planning Policy (Vegetation in Non-Rural Areas) 2017 applies.

If the Code is made, Councils will have a role in receiving notifications and in identifying plants that are a risk to life and property.
