Register for AdaptNSW 2021 Webinar

Register now for Adaptation in action: heat risks and opportunities in your local government area to hear what other councils are doing to adapt to the impacts of extreme heat and heatwaves and learn about practical tools and resources available to support councils facing the same challenges.

Every year the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment connects people from across NSW through the AdaptNSW Forum and webinars, to share information that enables people to take action to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

This AdaptNSW webinar will showcase some of the innovative Increasing Resilience to Climate Change grant projects, featuring local councils that are building resilience to the impacts of extreme heat in their communities. These projects are delivered by Local Government NSW in partnership with, and funded by, the Climate Resilience and Net Zero Emissions branch.

When: Wednesday 8 December 10am-12pm.

The webinar will address the following questions:

  • What practical solutions are other councils implementing to adapt to climate change on heat related issues?
  • What tools and resources exist to support other councils facing the same challenges?
  • What guidance is available, or will be available soon, to support councils to incorporate climate change considerations into the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework?

Register now to attend and tell your colleagues about it. This online webinar is suitable for all levels of local government (council engineers, planners, emergency management) and broader audiences who are interested in managing the impacts of extreme heat and heatwaves.
