Impact of Service Authorities on Infrastructure Projects – Survey Request for feedback

Austroads is calling on local government infrastructure managers to complete a survey to help with a research project examining the impact of service authorities on infrastructure projects.

The project aims to reduce the negative impact of third-party assets on infrastructure, such as overhead transmission lines and underground services. It will assess the full impact of utilities on road and rail projects so that an evidence base can be gathered to highlight issues, areas for change and practical solutions to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

The special survey targeted at the local government sector will take between 10-20 minutes complete, depending on the depth of responses, and is open until November 17.

Fivenines Consulting Pty Ltd has been engaged to lead the project and work with Austroads’ member agencies and third-part asset owners. The findings will be published towards the end of 2022.
