Regional Housing Taskforce to pinpoint planning challenges

The NSW Government has established a Regional Housing Taskforce to identify challenges in the planning system that may be preventing the delivery of housing supply and formulate recommendations to improve housing outcomes in regional NSW.  

The taskforce, which includes senior executives from the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and the Department of Regional NSW, will be chaired by experienced planner Garry Fielding. 

The taskforce will engage with stakeholders, including councils, and consider written submissions until 27 August 2021. A report will then be delivered to the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces in September 2021.
