Mend App aims to reduce homelessness

Independent not-for-profit organisation Jewish House has created an app that enables the public, when walking past a person sleeping rough, to take action and create a report to a local support service.

The Mend App sends a report to local services, reporting that an individual is potentially experiencing homelessness, and helping to ensure they are receiving the care they need.

The app assists in creating a more accurate real-time picture of what is happening for those who are homeless or at threat of being homeless.

Please note: only certain outreach services and areas of NSW are covered and it is Jewish House’s intention to continue to roll out into different areas.

The areas covered will be listed on mend.org.au. Councils that would like to promote this app to their community can also access more information at mend.org.au.
