National consultations on building and construction 

Several discussion papers are now open for public consultation in response to the Building Confidence Report. 

The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is seeking public feedback on the following discussion papers on the content of model guidance relating to:

• Integrity of private building surveyors and their role in enforcement – Closes 27 April 2021
• Building Manuals – Closes 17 May 2021
• Draft National Building Product Assurance Framework – Closes 6 June 2021

The Building Confidence Report (BCR) made 24 recommendations for a best practice model for compliance and enforcement, to strengthen the effective implementation of the National Construction Code (NCC). Each discussion paper seeks input in response to selected recommendations of the BCR.
