Feedback Sought on Water Consultations

The NSW Government has published the Draft NSW Water Strategy and the Productivity Commission has published its Draft Report on Water Reform.

LGNSW will be making submissions on behalf of councils and is seeking feedback to help inform our approach.

The Draft NSW State Water Strategy has been recently published by the NSW Government. It aims to clearly articulate the water resource management and service delivery framework and policy context for NSW including how local, regional, and metropolitan water policy and planning frameworks work together.

The Productivity Commission Draft Report National Water Reform outlines a number of recommendations in response to previous submissions from stakeholders including LGNSW. It acknowledges that while the National Water Initiative has delivered some very positive outcomes, recent prolonged droughts have highlighted the need for ongoing reform.
