Webinar 1: Starting the net zero emissions journey
Date/time: Monday 22nd March, 11am – 12.30pm
You will hear from the Department of Planning, Industry and the Environment and leading NSW councils on how they started their journey towards net zero emissions and how to address some common barriers to implementation. The webinar will focus on how community engagement can be leveraged, getting buy-in from councillors and senior management and how to make it a priority across the whole organisation.
Hear from Hawkesbury City Council and Dubbo Regional Council about how they built internal support to develop their energy strategies.
Webinar 2: Net Zero Emissions Pathways: Stationary energy and built environment
Date/time: Wednesday 28 April, 11am – 12.30pm
This is one of two webinars that will deep dive into the actions and strategies for transitioning stationary energy and the built environment to net zero emissions. It will include how evidence-based action planning has been used by councils to reduce emissions, what crucial steps are needed as recommended by technical experts, and how the NSW Government will support these transitions at local government level through its programs.

Following on from Webinar 2, in this webinar we will delve into reducing emissions from waste and transport. Focusing on council and community action, find out what tools and programs councils can access to transition in these sectors.
