Management Solutions provides councils with an independent insight into their performance and make recommendations on how to strengthen and increase their sustainability. We can review structure, processes and output, depending on council requirements.
Our team has a solid understanding of the unique challenges facing councils. We work closely with elected council, the general manager and senior staff to identify where issues exist and where improvements or changes need to be made. As the review develops, it lays the foundations for a process of change management.
During the last seven years, LGMS has assisted more than 20 councils with reviews of:

As a third party observer, we review and report on the organisational strengths, weaknesses and internal staff perceptions of how the council functions. Our tools include documentation reviews, workshops, interviews and focus groups with relevant stakeholders, Staff Engagement Surveys and tailored benchmarking processes.
We deliver a comprehensive report to the mayor and/or general manager which provides key recommendations for improvement to meet organisational objectives. We also present recommendations on-site to the elected council and general manager. Our approach is to ensure a clear understanding of the issues with recommendations, support action and planning for positive change, if required.
